Environment Advisor – Bendigo

Where you will be workingLactalis Bendigo in Victoria is situated in Central Victoria. This region is well known for producing premium food and first grade dairy products. About our roleThe role will take the lead to ensure compliance to policies, standards, licence and legal requirements. There is a key focus on wastewater management by managing the day to day results and actions to ensure compliance.Lead the development and delivery of environmental management and monitoring program across the site.Engage with the site managers, expert technical professionals, government regulatory authorities and monitoring service provides to ensure that site environmental monitoring objectives are met.Ensure treatment plant is operated according to licence conditions.Ensure daily operations are conducted in accordance with standards/ procedures.Work with internal & external stakeholders to operate the treatment plant in accordance with EPA requirements.Identify & improve system issues and  procedural changes.Ensure compliance with all relevant contractual regulatory and legislative requirements as a minimum standard.Ensure all waste to company specifications and in line with environmental guidelines and expectations of the regulators and Lactalis. About our role

What you can bring to the role

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Trusted expert advisor in the technical field of environmental monitoring.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritise effectively within a fast-paced work environment
  • Proven high-performer, with excellent communication and organisational skills and capable of building effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in:
  • Health and Safety
  • Experience of Water or Wastewater Treatment
  • Implementation and continuous improvement of EMS (ISO 14001)
  • Sound knowledge and application of risk management techniques and relevant
    State environmental legislation
  • Australian Food Industry (highly desirable)
  • HAZOP, GMP experience (desirable)
  • Current driver’s licence
